45th Reunion Weekend
August 13, 14 & 15, 2010
The Alumni Dinner, Class Banquet and Sunday Picnic we a great success. Attendees enjoyed meeting with other Classes at the Friday Dinner, a fantastic Banquet and Tour of the High School Saturday and sunday's picnic fellowship. Plans for the 50th Gala Reunion have already Started..

A new house: average cost was $13,500.
New Car 1965: .... new Chevy's were $2,655.00 **and gas was 31 cents per gallon!
Shopping for Food? ...a loaf of bread was 21 cents; 5lbs of sugar was 59 cents; 1/2 gallon of milk was 53 cents (delivered).
In America: The 630-foot-tall Gateway Arch in St. Louis is completed October 28th. It commemorates the Lousiana Purchase in 1808.
Medical Firsts:: the first year mandated health warnings appeared on cigarette packages
America's Search for peace: : Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. led a civil rights march in Alabama from Selma to Montgomery. The first of three attempted civil rights marches from Selma, Alabama to Montgomery, dubbed "Bloody Sunday," ends in violence as local and state police attack marchers with billy clubs, tear gas, and bull whips. Riots in Watts California left large parts of the city burnt and 34 dead. 35,000 marched on Washington to protest the Vietnam War. Malcolm X is assassinated in New York City.
Space Exploration: : March 18th, Russian cosmonaut Aleksei Leonov becomes first man to walk in space then June 3rd US astronaut Edward White becomes first American to walk in space. Ranger 8 crashes into the moon after a successful mission of photographing possible landing sites for the Apollo Program
Music Firsts::Sony introduced the new (doomed to fail) Betamax Tape Recorder, the Beatles released 4 albums in '65 including "HELP" and play a live Concert in Shea Stadium .

New Fashions:: ..included the mini skirt and long hair for men.
Dates and Features
March 21-25: Martin Luther King, Jr. leads the third, and ultimately successful, civil rights march from Selma, Alabama to the capitol building in Montgomery.
April 11th: The Palm Sunday Tornado Outbreak, the deadliest in Indiana history (137 people killed), devastates six Midwestern states with 47 tornadoes over an eleven hour period
July 30th: President Johnson signs the Social Security Act into law, establishing Medicare and Medicaid.
September: CBS switches to the color standard with a little jingle informing viewers that "CBS presents this program in color.".
September 12th: The Beatles appear on The Ed Sullivan Show
November 19th: The Northeast Blackout of 1965 leaves approximately 25 million in seven states and parts of Canada in the dark for up to twelve hours.
December 9th: A Charlie Brown Christmas debuts on CBS
